Immune Response and Inflammation, SPM research ... - Inspire
As many of you know, I have been suffering from what seems to be a neurological inflammation, maybe initiated by my bodies' overreaction to the Covid vaccine. Recently, my neurologist recommended the use of a supplement SPM. I am still researching the information, which is tied to the use of SPM, but I was not aware of the supplement until recently, and wished that I had known earlier. So, I am posting to bring the supplement to your attention, so you may evaluate if it might be valuable to you in any of your many different health situations. Hoping, that this may help someone, especially since I so wish I had known about this supplement months ago when I began this painful neurological journey.
I still do not know if it will help me. Hopefully, it is not too late timewise for change or that the SPM is able to help, but I am finding that hope is something that I crave, and this supplement gives me some hope.
My husband and I are both starting SPM, and I will let you know if we see any changes. My husband is trying SPM to see if it will help alleviate a chronic shoulder inflammation which he has had for over a year. He has had steroid shots several times, physical therapy twice and takes aspirin daily multiple times to alleviate the discomfort.
All I know fact wise at this point, is that the body makes and uses SPM's to resolve inflammation in the body. The body may get caught in the inflammation stage for many reasons, not producing needed SPMs for also many reasons, including age, (gag, I am tired of hearing that my age is hampering my health). Research seems to show that the taking of SPMs may help resolve pain and neurological issues tied to inflammation in many diseases.
Notice please that the SPM supplement is not just fish oil. Instead, it also contains what the body makes from omega 3's,SPMs, which are found in fish oil.
Below, I have copied the main difference as one article sees it between fish oil and SPM:
"SPM Active vs Fish Oil Supplements: Which Is Better For Me?
Since these supplements share so many similarities, it can be tough to know which one is the best choice for you. When you compare SPM Active vs fish oil, it really comes down to how you plan to use it.
Those polyunsaturated fatty acids (e.g., EPA, DHA, etc.) are the precursors to SPMs. You need a good supply of those EFA precursors in your body to create SPMs in the future. It’s a good practice to build up those EFAs on a regular basis. This indicates that fish oil supplements are the best option for improving your long-term health.
SPM Active, on the other hand, is more of an immediate therapeutic intervention. The SPMs are all prepped and ready to go in the supplement itself. This preparation means that SPM Active is better suited to deal with immediate inflammation problems before they escalate and become worse. That’s where we see the biggest difference between SPM Active vs fish oil supplements."

Many sites recommend using fish oil with an SPM. I am not clear yet at how much fish oil should be used with the SPM since both are prone to thin the blood. Probably, using fish oil regularly and supplementing with SPM as needed might be the best. But, I am still researching and considering, thanks for your help as we research together.
Below are links to the supplement and the concentration which seems to be the one tied to most of the research. Also, another link to an article about SPM, plus other links as I find them. There are some simple graphics and charts that try to explain the SPM. Both are good beginning points, but there are also several research papers on line, which I am plodding thru now. Please research and share your constructive insights as you wish. I will add any research articles which you submit below with any which I find. Thank you.
